This is part of an art series called Tonic. Tonic is a sensorial art project exploring ritual, tea drinking, the everyday and phenomenological experience.

Rituals come in many different forms. They can be huge scale ceremonies, but they can also be within the tiny insignificant everyday actions we make. A couple examples of this can be going for a walk, washing your face, or drinking tea. Tea is the most consumed drink in the world after water.

Almost every culture participates in this ancient ritual and each one has a varied approach. From different reasons and intentions, to different times of the day, and different settings.

Realising how intrinsic this ritual has become within my everyday life has been the catalyst for this series of work based around drinking tea.
